I'm starting to notice that no one has any clear idea on what the implications of the split are on lenders/borrowers. The one that makes the most sense to me is the lender that held the original 'core' original shares gets the divvie and all the fake lent-out shit gets nothing.

THEN, only people that hold original/core/legit shares will get the divvy while people that were lent synthetics won't get shit because they don't hold a legitimately identifiable share. This calls into question whether a person in a broker was actually given a share or an 'IOU'. Another question is if there is a true distinction between a real share and a synthetic. If not, then it stands to reason that they would distribute the divvy to PROVEN legitimate shares (if only there was a way to prove your shares were legitimate) and what happens with synthetics is like a thousand orphans fighting over the tiny bit of oatmeal left in the pot.

Ever wonder why some posters on here adamantly shout about not DRSing and that brokers rugging is FUD? Well whatever your opinion on it is, consider this, and consider it well. Do you KNOW if the shares in your broker account are actually bought or if they just penciled it in to buy later at a cheaper price to pocket the difference? Anyone with half a brain already DRSed. If you were foolish and lazy enough to never have done it then I hope everything works out for you.
