A scenario:

Halvings balance this exponentially, until (electricity price adjusted) BTC price rise can't keep up. Exponentially more and more miners stop mining because operating costs are higher than mining rewards. Because of the low USD adjusted hashrate Bitcoin suffers its first 51% attack and loses confidence. A hard fork war reminiscent of 2017 ensues.

Another scenario:

A major breakthrough in fusion energy or something else makes electricity near-free. ASIC hardware becomes the bottleneck instead of electricity. Because of the halvings, the scrap metal of an ASIC is worth the same as decades of mining rewards. An attacker starts buying ASICs at a premium to scheme an attack. Altruistic ASIC farms dedicated to Bitcoin's preservation are formed against this attacker. Bitcoin's survival chances are fairly high.

Another scenario:

Bitcoin solves its security budget problem either with stably high fees or with a hard fork and survives the unbreakable long term death spiral it's currently in.

Last month when this import report happened SPY dumped from $443 to $437 up until lunchtime. Now the China imports are even worse but the market has already dumped quite a bit the past week so…

Crypto is the only way to trustlessly create scarce digital information, most important being money. This is huge and it can be expanded to full financial systems and beyond with smart contracts. Some examples how crypto protocols are better than legacy systems/tradfi:
No bloodsucking fees from companies/banks/intermediaries because a protocol does it more efficiently and seeks less/no profits. No need for trust is better than having high trust.
No censoring/canceling/discrimination because everyone with an internet connection can use the open protocol equally. Even software with no admin behind it can do transactions and own digital stuff and make purchases. A bot can't own a bank account but it can own a crypto address.
The code has all the control and power and is immutable. The network can't be killed because it's trustless and decentralized. All protocol level code is open source.
Less bureaucracy. Saves people's time and energy. No more calling to the customer support to fix a stuck international money transfer because it got autoflagged as suspicious. The code just executes.
More privacy (depends on implementation, but at least pseudonymous).
Option for more transparency. E.g. see where every penny of tax money goes, reducing corruption.
More interconnected. Because dapps are open and free, they are connected to each other and can read/write with other dapps. This creates new interesting dapps/webs of dapps where data is shared.
Full ownership and control with cryptography. Even better than physical ownership because it's harder to confiscate.
etc. etc. these are just from the top of my head. Most of crypto has turned into scams and semi-scams, or in general just making money, while forgetting the actual tech what makes crypto valuable. Crypto is exactly what Nick Szabo explained in his 1997 paper The God Protocols. Go read it and think why people thought about this 25 years ago. https://nakamotoinstitute.org/the-god-protocols/

I live down the street. There's a healthy homeless population floating around that building and surrounding area, you can always film bum fights; easy to buy weed in San Jose to use as a barganing chip.

There is 0 demand for unstable stable token. If all of the lunc except 1 disappeared and you owned it you wouldn't be a billionaire. You wouldn't be a millionaire. You wouldn't even be able to buy the village cattle you sold to buy the LUNC you originally purchased. You're just holding the only turd left. No one wants to buy that turd you from you Pranjeet. It's Supply AND(!!!) DEMAND.

Cool. I did too, honestly wish I had the $700 back. It's cool to have a modern Sega Game Gear again, but I'm struggling to actually want to use it vs my desktop. I don't hang out anywhere I'd want to take it and am always driving so can't play on the road. Guess I can flex on my friends, but at this age none of us give a passing shit anymore.

Those bonds aren't worth shit right now and they don't even mature for another 8 years. Not even Chainlink holders are this deluded.

How will a second lockdown look like in terms of economical stress. Will stonks tank? Will crypto tank too? Will it have any effect at all? A greater amount of people realized that money can be made online by trading apps, this will inflate price action even more but which way?
