Brainlet here but why dont you just do part time PhD while staying at your current job?

Basically if your boss say ok to it you could go down to half hours while you do the PhD double the time.

I guess it depends how stressful your job is but I’ve personally always prefered working and studying same time. I did this during masters.

I burn out easily when doing only studying and being broke.
