This! I feel like I lost a great start in life because of the financial choices of my parents.

When I went to college they gave me 2k. I'm glad with getting the money but it was not enough to pay all the bills. I had to work 20 hours a week while studying just to make ends meet. And still got a small college debt (which I payed off!).

Meanwhile friends and co-workers got money from their parents to buy their first house or they paid for college. Also some of them got sponsored for their start-up o r introduced to a great network of people.

Currently my daughter is 5 years old and I got already enough saved for her to got to college. And I will make damm sure she don't have to take a full mortage .
