I still remember Washington mutual, heralded as a safe place to put your cash -wrong. Once they fell, they were relieved of all debt obligation, aka a bail-in where they no longer have to give back any deposits. Another reason to keep wealth untied to risky yiddish gambling money changers

Banks fail, i keep stacking. It bugs me that the term savings has become associated with handing the bank your money for a, "low risk" account to hold your money. I don't want my wealth tied up to anyone elses, what i earn is mine and i store it in my chests or safe.

the banks offering the higher interest are more likely to go under, find a credit union, they are a bit safer than the large banks
