So you could make 5%. If you short youd get a 20x if usdc collapses. Some ppl realy think the chance of USDC not collapsing is less then 399/400? It would not make sense to long otherwise. Lots of ppl could loose big here. Usdc-volume is 30 billions. Thats not a nothingburger. And EVERYBODY getting in now will exit if we approach 1$.
Stay out of this, dont buy usdc. Maybe consider shorting if you have spare money. 95 to 100 allows you 20x leverage

My Toyota is 18 years old with 170k miles and my husband’s Volvo is 17 years old with 90k miles. We keep up with maintenance but it’s only a matter of time before we’ll need to replace one or both of these. Our household income is $120k but we are in a HCOL area, so we are below the median income. No debt except our mortgage. No kids or plans for them, just a dog. We are both 33 and have about $140k saved for retirement so we are doing okay with that benchmark wise (on track to be close to 1.5x annual income by 35 unless the market is truly terrible).

We have $6600 saved so far for a new car and I’ve been throwing $250/month at that fund. We have about $27,000 more in cash savings, but it’s earmarked as a house efund and job loss efund so I’d prefer not to tap too much into that.

I commute 3-5 days/week depending on a lot of factors and my husband commutes 2x/week. We need two cars, but could probably get by with one newer car and one beater, I just don’t know about buying a beater in this market. We both have credit scores of around 780.

What would your plan of attack be if you were in my shoes? How would you plan for this? (edit - we plan to drive them until we can’t anymore but I want to start planning for that). I’m happy to provide more details but didn’t want this post to be too long.
