i've always thought about this. i usually just sell old junk (still works) i'm trying to get rid of. a lot of my profit comes from over charging for shipping.
if i were to sell something expensive and highly likely to be scammed on (say a macbook), i would video tape EVERYTHING. the macbook, the serial number, powering it on, posting and booting completely, keyboard and track pad, then shutting it down, packaging it, sealing it, showing the shipping label. if you really want to be safe, video yourself bringing it to the post office and dropping it off, all in one take. so you have indisputable evidence that you are sending the actual, working product.
it's a huge fucking stretch, but may be worth it.

if you DO accept a return, make sure you create the shipping label and choose the most expensive shipping method. this may steer them from sending it back, if the case is they pay $70 to ship back a $30 item. make sure you opt for a signature too. maybe you could not accept the package and never have to return the money because you never received the package.
