You seem to be misunderstanding the purpose of the rate hike on a fundamental level.

The objective is to stamp out inflation caused by the overheating economy. In other words, crashing the economy with no survivors. Scorched earth.

Congress will hedge against it as needed, with plenty of spending and stimulus. The debt will be no issue, because a destabilized American economy means a catastrophic global economy. And debt hawks only exist to score political points.

If you are concerned about inflation, fixing poverty is the last thing you want to do. New wealth creates new demand, which increases prices. Textbook rise in CPI, from the bottom up.
