I feel like what OP has done, tripfagging, sheds light on another reason why I think reddit has been able to be so successful. Everything I'm about to say, I say with full knowledge and understanding of anonymous board culture and I get why trips are looked down upon, but this is still worth saying. Everyone on reddit has a username, and as a result everyone there is held accountable for the things they say and there can be formed a sense of community. Because everyone on here is anonymous, we can't actually get enough of a sense of community to really hone in on one thing. Nobody knows who anyone is, so nobody has any reason to really give a shit what anyone says what ideas they have and everything posted will always be self centered as you're the only person who's identity you know. Once a thread dies all the ids are reset, the people you were talking to may as well not exist anymore and any ideas you had are good as dead. The anonymity has its benefits, but it definitely ensures that we as a board can't come together. A person can make a thread shilling a project and then another fudding it at the same time. Just for fun. We can't have any semblance of unity unless we trip, that's my takeaway anyway. I know this is effectively heresy, but I want to hear your anon's thoughts on this take.
