I paid $1k for my miniature schnauzer. I would pay an additional $2k max over time not including regular vet things, this is for emergency stuff only. If the cost to potentially save his life was more than $2k tdt I could justify it. My friend spent somewhere around $4k on his husky when it ate an entire rubber boot and had to be cut open to remove it. He was super upset about it, if it werent for his wife i think he may have said fuck it.
