>REED was arrested in Massachusetts this morning, and will be presented in federal court there. HAYES, DELO, and DWYER remain at large.

REED is singing like tweety bird, spilling the beans. HAYES is banging coconuts together trying to keep Seychelles authorities from extraditing, and DELO and DWYER are having sex change operations in the Dominican Republic in a bid to evade detection under a new identity.

Installation and maintenance isn't a problem, but if you want to operate at scale you need LOTS of infrastructure for power (MW-grade) as well as enough cooling infrastructure for that power. I would recommend hiring a consultant or you will fuck yourself over.

Also this. Governments hate crypto miners and as soon as the ecowarriors start complaining you're fucked.

Set up a small GPU mining rig and collect a passive stream of whatever crypto you like for years.

Mining profits are going up again, ROI is reasonable, but used hardware is just now starting to dry up. Better get on it if you can be decisive.

For all the low IQ individuals posting about the China mining FUD, actually grow a brain and look into how POW mining and coin emissions work. This is not bad news for Bitcoin or crypto, there will not be a Bitcoin shortage, you shouldn't invest in POS, etc etc. This announcement simply means that China may lose some of their centralized influence over crypto minting if they even ban it to begin with.

You all should really understand the basic economic mechanics of something you invest thousands in.

I said it once and I'll say it again.

All the "China bans Bitcoin!!!" FUD, as well at Bitmain's activities, are cover for the Chinese nationalization of their crypto industry. Now they're offshoring Bitmain to other countries, including the US and trying to gain control over the world's future monetary system.

Which model? If it was free it's probably unprofitable.

Lots of Antminers (model S3/5/7, A3, R4, etc) is worthless now and will actually cause you to lose money.

As someone running 20+ cards and multiple ASICs, I would recommend buying crypto outright, but mining isn't all bad and you will probably hit ROI within a year. I personally find it enjoyable, but it's not for everyone.

Just don't buy those RTX cards or you'll be making a horrible decision right out the gate. Best bang for your buck right now is Vega 56/64 cards to mine CN algos. Next best thing would be used RX 580s for <$100, or GTX 1080 Ti's if you're looking for flexibility. Generally AMD cards are more finicky than Nvidia and require lots of tuning, while Nvidia are more expensive, more flexible in algos, and much easier to keep stable.

For example, my rig of 6x 1080 Ti will stay up for weeks at a time while a mixed rig of Vega/580 will crash every 2-3 days.

Visit Craigslist and see what people are selling in your area.

Cloud mining is all a scam.

The only way to truly mine crypto is to buy your own equipment. Most of these "cloud mining" scam companies are just buying hashpower from other cloud mining scams, who are just buying hashpower from Nicehash, who are just buying hashpower from actual miners which are brainlets and don't mind getting hosed. Buy a Z9/mini locally from an overextended dumbass and set it up in your garage. Should still turn a profit over the next year hopefully.

If you don't have at least a single RX 480 it's probably not even worth it. But do remember, so long as you make a profit beyond electrical costs, it's always worth it to mine over just buying a bag.

I wouldn't recommend buying GPUs for mining right now if you don't have any already.
