It does beg the question if (entities similar in function to..) the CIA would have a strategic amount of BTC held, ready to attack its market at just the right time to keep a calculated loss from accruing over time but it absolutely isn't CIA that's behind the existence of BTC itself, I'd put a lot of money on that. The reason is simply because of BTC (specifically) having a reputation that began with "I went from $1 to $1,000,000 - you can too!" and "wait a minute... silk road still works? hol up... lemme make a call..."
The CIA could easily twist the narrative with foreign intelligence to make it seems so, but the thing about people who're good at math and the kind of numbers we're beginning to phase out with quantum computational abilities, is that they are never appreciated as much as the good looking alphas in the field keeping us safe from Abu Hajaars.
