I am in the same boat as you bro, it is fucking hard. I have been trying to license my idea to companies with no such luck. The problem with the market I am operating in is that there arent any big name brand companies, so there is no one to really license it to. And as far as validating your idea, it wont count for shit . You can have 30 people tell you oh thats a neat idea! But if you dont have a prototype or any other physical things to show they will just pass on it. Also be sure to register a provisional patent for your idea, this will enable you to show your idea to interested parties without them stealing it. Maybe you will have more luck then me, i am just about to throw in the towel at this point.

Its always a joy when you get to meet those people from the past though, nostalgia and such. Sometimes the least likely friendship that you made all those years ago will be the one you miss most. Keep on searching.
