Precious metals really are the boomer's bitcoin. People/institutions get into gold/silver when confidence in the dollar is low, and then speculation pumps it so it can be good to have as a hedge against the next big financial crisis.

Silver is poor man's gold, and generally follows its price action. Currently its at a low for its ratio to gold, which could be a good sign its hit its bottom and is undervalued. Basically, when people start getting interested in gold again, silver will follow. So with that said, might as well buy now because I don't really think it can go much lower anyway, and the potential gain in the event of a market crash can be pretty high.
