businesses aren't getting money, banks financing businesses aint gonna get money, mortgage holders who dont have savings aint gonna be able to pay the banks so banks still dont get money, businesses will have to close and homeowners foreclose which means defaulting on loans, Banks will see the fear of God and stand a chance of going down (maybe??), a reduction of business means a reduction of potential cash-flow which will mean less growth, etc.

If you can have the average American margin trade himself into debt slavery, imagine how high-stakes the game American banks are playing.
