Well then here we go in the odd case someone is interested. Considerations for raising meat rabbits.
>4 kg of feed is necessary for every kg of live weight
>this feed costs like 0.4$/kg --> 1.6$/kg
>usually around 50% of this weight is useful, thus ~3.2$/kg producing cost
>40-50% of pellets (feed) can be substituted with green food (i.e. grass), potentially cutting this in half
Obv. there are other costs like vaccinating the does/bucks and whatnot, but those are relatively low. It's not gonna make you rich, but you will be able to feed your family with high quality meat for a very low amount of $. Other stuff to consider
>It takes approximately 16 to 20 hours on average per year to care for a breeding doe. There will be feeding, cage cleaning, breeding etc. involved.
>With 3-4 does and 1 buck, enough rabbits can be produced so that a family might consume meat from 2 fryers per week the year-round. (That's ~4 kg of meat per week, for reference.)

This, dog breeding is hard work if you actually want to do anything even resembling quality.

I want to start breeding giant rabbits, actually, mostly for food. I don't have the place for them tho so that's a bitch. Also would have to figure out something how I would deal with them if I left for a week or something.
