On smartcontract.com, it says they are working with Swift on their own SWIFT smart oracle. Is this going to be chainlink, or something different? thanks

Can I get a quick rundown on SWIFT? Who the fuck are they and why does it matter that Chainlink is working with them?

Why does this company have so many bad reviews on Glassdoor?

The more you read about it in this thread, the more it starts to make sense. What if SWIFT and the Smart Contract team created a Swift oracle (GPI LINK) to use a chainlink oracle in a permissioned ledger (R3). This wont require the use of the actual chainlink token, unless Swift decides to use a permissionless dlt (ethereum).

Will Swift using their Chainlink oracle in a permissioned chain be a win for LINK holders?

Will this scenario be a win for Link token holders?

Is anyone here thinking of the possibility that Swift will confirm link partnership from their side?

Obviously there has been plenty from link's side saying that they are in an active partnership but since the webinar is about the ISO protocol used in new technologies there is a chance that it might be applied with chainlink.
A summary of the events to take place on the webinar as as follows, " we will explain how re-using ISO 20022 for APIs can help banks to ensure end-to-end consistency in their business processes by simplifying integration of new technologies and services into existing financial systems and processes".

When it comes down to it, its a war between Corda and Link. If the technology is so similar between the projects and SWIFT has stated that they are working with R3 Corda, then what purpose does chainlink have? In the end will the financial sector choose a more centralized approach rather than the decentralization that is given by chainlink? Even though none of the trails lead to Link when you start with Swift why has the team constantly stated that they are working with SWIFT?

The technology of either Corda or Link is needed though, if you take a look at the document here [https://www.swift.com/resource/distributed-ledgers-smart-contracts-business-standards-and-iso-20022] you can see that SWIFT clearly wants to implement smart-contract technology however is looking for an oracle project a solution.

So what do you guys think, will tomorrow be a nothing-burger, or possibly SWIFT stating how they will be working more on implementing R3 Corda, or will we finally get conformation from SWIFT that Chainlink is somehow being implemented?

I work for Swift and we have been testing Astraea along with Chain Link testnet. So far we have seen that:

>Astraea is better than link at scaling, processing velocity and cheaper (2:1 rate).
> Link is better for node operators but the limited supply would make the network unusable.

So far we are going to switch to Astraea. Have a good day.
