At 12:00 today HKT, an engineer in the team of an advisor to ORIGYN misinterpreted instructions and swapped a significant amount of OGY tokens for Wrapped ICP on the Sonic decentralized exchange. The advisor left guidelines for testing the DEX and tokens in the custody of the engineer — in accordance with the advisory role. The engineer and the advisor are in Shanghai, where the continued lockdowns add to the breakdown in communication. The size of the transactions were not in line with the instructions given by the advisor and against the recommendation provided by the Foundation.

ORIGYN was quickly alerted to the situation, isolated the chain of transactions in accordance with our internal security protocols and contacted the advisor. This individual immediately reverted these transactions and returned the funds.
