bumping with a suggestion that actaully has practical advice about how to think about which bussiness you get into and how to motivate employees. Can't say I've learned anything from it though.

I fucking hate these threads, it's nothing but anons spouting the same 12 books that really 'inspired them' without even bothering to explain what you might learn out of it, probably because they actually teach no practical techniques or require you already to have at least 30k in cash to use what little lessons are embeded in them.

Once again it's not just some theory put forward by a journalist, like OP it's buy a guy who's actually "made it". Some good advice about what kind of industries to go into etc.

I haven't read that, but having read a few summaries of it it seems like a really good conglomeration of a lot of different theories - Clay Christensen, Metcalfe's Law etc.
