reddit subs, especially cryptocurrency ones, discourage newcomers. they suffer from discourse stagnation and echo chamber issues as a consequence before moderation even gets involved. even ethereum forums have creeped into become de facto walled in communities that are hard to enter and they are in denial about this. it's going to bite them in the ass when their projects built on ethereum gets disrupted by outsiders that are building (better) solutions (on ethereum) that they never saw coming because those outsiders didn't want to go through getting the bullshit guanxi necessary to have any voice there.

The vast majority of day traders don't really earn anything but actually just lose and lose, and of the ones that do earn something, most don't outperform the market.

The ones that do end up earning significant money usually only do so after learning harsh lessons on their own, no matter how much they read/learn beforehand.

Modern trading algorithms consistently outperform day traders too.
