Yes eventually price needs to have a backing in supply and demand, and business success, the speculation always happens well before the tech gets to that point.

By your logic the dotcom bubble was a complete ponzi, but look 20 years later and now we have some of the most successful and valuable stocks that have ever existed that have come out of that "ponzi."

If you don't see why SOME cryptos are going to be incredibly useful and disruptive once they start getting more adoption, it just means you don't understand blockchain or how much business is built on being a trusted middleman (a lot of current businesses are rent seekers based on being the middleman). Most cryptos are not going to make it but the ones that do will make A LOT of money.
