I worked in a literal concentration camp style alcohol warehouse. We had to show up at 5pm and work until every truck was loaded for the next day route before we could leave, we got no breaks since we received 1 hour for lunch. It was the most back breaking labor I have ever done. The managers would sit in their office all night snorting perc’s, but we were allowed to smoke cigarettes inside. I probably ran 20 miles a day, lifting multiple cases of alcohol that all weighed 50lbs a piece at a time working on the case line and got into probably the best shape of my life at that point.... We would have nights around the holidays where we would literally be there for 18-20hrs a shift, you couldn’t leave until all the trucks were loaded. It got so bad on how many overtime hours we were getting they sent in the regional HR boss to spy on us bout what was going on. He only upside was we got all the free alcohol we wanted since if the box/case broke we got to take whatever breakage since once the label was messed up it wasn’t sellable. We weren’t a weouse for shit beer/wine brands but there were a few mixed in. Things like sam Adams, Lagunitas, Sierra Nevada and a bunch of other high end beer and wines and champagne like Moët and Ace of Spades. We would know what specials were going to be hitting stores 2 months before we started shipping product out and got to also get all kinds of cool advertising merch they would send out to stores and would get sent back.

Thank You Jesus Christ the King of Kings and Lord of Lords don’t have to work that job anymore and make hundreds of thousands of dollars now, but I’ll never forget that experience and the others who worked there since I know Od could destroy me in two seconds so I thank him everyday I don’t have to do that anymore.
