You can't leave, people depend on your tax money. Don't be selfish anon.

The really cancer part is that if XRP did randomly jump to 2k for some reason, and I moved some profits, say $100,000, into another coin to preserve it from XRP dropping back down, it'd have to magically make close to $45,000 in real money appear to pay the taxes, because everything past like .25 is profit.

There is an allowance, but that's an allowance before you have to pay tax. Even if I only make a couple hundred dollars, it's income. I've checked the rules a fair bit, it's all so tiresome.

UK, there is no rule against buying crypto on unemployment, as long as you don't discharge the assets. I'm perfectly ok to accumulate XRP and XLM in anticipation of a price rise, and if the value of my XLM and XRP reaches £150,000, I can inform the DWP of a change in circumstances and immediately end my claim, cash out, pay the taxes, and have enough money to live for 2 or 3 years, at which point I will be allowed to trade properly because I won't be on unemployment. Staying within the law is tiresome knowing most other people don't bother.

I have medical conditions so I get a NEET pass. Legally change your name to something Somalian before making a claim and they'll probably give you like £50,000 a year without asking any questions.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture proudly reports that they distribute free meals and food stamps to over 46 million people on an annual basis. Meanwhile, the National Park Service, run by the U.S. Department of the Interior, place these signs at parks:

"Please do not feed the animals."

Their stated reason for this policy being that the animals will grow dependent on the handouts, and then they will never learn to take care of themselves.

Cashiers at fast food chains or restocking boxes on retail floors takes no skill or qualifications. They're the easiest job to get, everyone is qualified for them, they pay enough to you to eat and buy clothes and use public transport, and live in low-income rent-controlled housing with roommates. Everyone who talks about living wages envisions them to include high-speed internet, $100/month in discretionary spending, a phone within the last 2 versions of release, and a Netflix subscription.

Fiscal education for no/low-income earners is 10x more important than giving them a raise. You can pay someone $15/hour but if they still don't know how debt works, or how their interest rates will change, or how to properly budget for the month, then they'll still have the majority of the economic issues they're already facing.

If people actually had to care for their family that would resolve too much division. Government programs mean that people don't have to rely on each other. Giving people welfare means that their families don’t need to provide for them or even care for them. They can become isolated. We see this in every aspect of society. Governments educate kids, parents don’t. Wives divorce knowing the government will provide for them. Parents fail to raise their kids because they know the government will be there to help etc.
