I use a combination of all available information, but at the end of the day, TA has played the most important role. I chose 5 stocks for my son using the same approach. 3 of them were picked in 2021, and 2 in 2022. He is in a program with strict rules, and they are all longs that must be held. So far, all 5 picks have stayed in the green relatively to original purchase. The 4th, 5th and 6th from the top here are all the same stock where he bought shares over a few day period rather than all at once, so still just 5 stocks here. The one on bottom lost about half its peak value during his time holding it. All of these are down from their previously reached highs. I knew essentially nothing about stocks but just wanted to help him and used TA without even knowing what TA was, and took glances at P/E (didn't know what it was but the program info gave pointers) and EV/EBITDA (same). I'm trying to learn as much as I can now.
