There was a paper showing LK-99 to have this property, then chinkys broke in and tried to steal it, so the scientists behind it released the paper ahead of schedule instead of making a more refined method so they could get Nobel prize, now pretty much every lab with a vacuum kiln, like in this stream, is attempting to recreate the material. Because the paper is so new and takes a bit of time to synthesize LK-99, its still inconclusive but we should find out if its a nothingburger or we become a type 2 kardishev overnight.
