Hi biz, I’m a stay at home mom and my husbands a mechanical engineer. I dropped out of college to marry him as a virgin and have a kid with him. When I met him I thought his career was good and I could be happy as a stay at home mom but now we want to move to Kansas City and we can’t afford a basic house… all the salaries online are super low like 60-90k.. I truly respect his profession and he’s an intelligent man but engineering is not a good career. I think it tops out at like 130k which is not a lot of money.. I can’t jump ship now since I have a family with him and I don’t want to work a menial job to not see my kid and barely be able to pay for day care. I’ve been brainstorming and there doesn’t seem to be a lot of room to grow in engineering so I thought law school part-time would be a good fit since he always said he could’ve been a lawyer and is high iq and has an excellent work ethic. We’re both from poor backgrounds so it sounds kind of crazy at first but I think he could pull it off so we can be comfortable years down the line. How can I gently and respectfully convey this idea to him, and is there alternatives to make more money? He said one day he wants to start an engineering firm but I see it as highly unlikely since we don’t have a lot of money laying around and again we’re from poorer families. I’m sure engineering was a great career 20 years ago but now it’s just barely above manager at McDonald’s to be honest and I don’t think he can support us like this… I just want a basic middle class life… what can he do

Honey I cashed out our 401k. The angry bald man on cnbc said markets will be ugly for a long time and I need to save the zestimate but I can't when renovation loans at the local banks have such a high interest rate. Honey don't be nervous the housing market is our retirement plan and those fine black gentlemen across the street moving in will prop our zestimate.

How does money wiring and settlement work?

If I 'wire' money to another country. Is that just an electronic message saying "this account on our end has been debited by 1000, credit this account in your bank by 1000"

Then does any money move or is it just data on a server?

These tiny tax havens with hundreds of billions in bank accounts. Do they have any physical money on the island or is it all data on a server. If it's just data on a server cant they just fiddle the accounts in their own jurisdiction without anyone else knowing?
