probably not so dramatic, but you get the idea. The better line is probably "I want to date you seriously." Using the word marriage might be a bit early and not your style. I met my wife in a scenario where I needed to be super serious and I tore a page out of Monogatari (because I'm a faggot) and "confessed properly" since it was relatively casual up to that point. I said something along the lines of
>"I want to date you with the prospect of marriage. Please continue going out with me."
We were going to be separated geographically and needed a more firm commitment or we would need to break it off entirely for closure. Without that kind of agreement, we wouldn't have made plans to get back into the same area.
