it'a a no-brainer: the Fed has more pain in store in the form of interest rate hikes. each time they do that, it increases volatility and lowers the tide of the market generally. even after they conclude with rate hikes, the ripples (in the dark pools) will be felt for a while. couple in the planned/manufactured shortages which will be even more acutely felt in the colder months with the attendant negative effects of falling consumer confidence in the face of fast-rising inflation and it seems apparent forecasting a bear market if not a full on depression seems inevitable if not highly likely.
