It's because they don't think in fundamentals. They are nihilists. They realize the potential of gme, but have been so beaten down by society that they don't believe they could ever truly make it. They can believe someone like them could build up some money in the stock market to make ends meet, but the concept that they could get untold wealth is unthinkable to them. Thus anything which could facilitate that has to be bullshit. They'll ignore any positives, anything that might imply it could be real. Like a sceptic seeing someone fly, they'll search for an explanation that fits within what they know to disprove it. Because to them it can't be real, it's impossible.

The reason they try so hard to debunk everything is because they want, no, NEED it to be bullshit. Because if it isn't they missed out on that big chance, and that scares them more than never having a shot to begin with.

Now, that's a good starting point, and I'm sure some drawfags could get about with that.

However, I'd love to see alternatives. Every board has gone through this phase, and had many itterations of the tan before one was picked. Even switching genders several times

So alternative I propose is:

Wherever we go, it can't be an existing character. It can have traits of existing ones, but can't just be copy paste
