Of course because they have a hedge fund arm which has the ability to short via HFT to inject between the bid and the ask, selling you the short synthetic, while then also using that as a swap for say BBBY or GME, whatever they want to not take the risk on but want the profit. Of course this is all above board and there totally isn't billions of synthetics floating around the system, causing the BBBY/GME explosion to resonate across other over leveraged positions we never knew even about.
