If hedgies could let the stock go to hundreds or even thousands as a "fake squeeze", they wouldn't need to let the stock price hover around 20 for this long. If they had complete control over the price, I'm sure they would prefer to have the price be higher just to keep retail from buying so much of it. Fake squeeze is such an absurd idea and I don't know why people still think that's a possibility.
