>who's selling?
Individual investors, different kinds of funds, companies, private banks, foreign governments
>Who owns these things and is selling causing yields to rise?
A lot of people own bonds. U.S. treasuries are a classic safe haven investment even though they don't provide any real returns anymore due to return free risk. I assume people flocked into bonds too when the 'rona struck.
When yields rise, the value of bonds go down. So bonds are cheaper when the yields are up, and bonds are more expensive when the yields are down. This is because higher risk bonds (for example Argentina's treasury bonds) need to have a higher yield because otherwise investors won't want to invest in them. And when investors do want to buy, the price obviously goes up and at the same time the yields go down.

Hedge against inflation and to a smaller degree deflation. Gold is a storehold of wealth because Central Banks cannot devalue it like they devalue currencies. Silver is a bit more speculative but will act as a storehold of wealth in a depression too. Both are severely undervalued while the stock market is in an enormous bubble along with real estate. Don't even get me started on the derivatives market or the ABSOLUTE STATE of the global economy when it comes to debt and interest rates

Uncertain times, people want security

Stimulus. Stocks (especially American ones) are inflated as fuck. It's bound to go down. The whole system will experience a major crash when USA's bloated debt bubble pops. That's when you hold onto your equities and gold for dear life
>crypto is dumping
All is as it should be. Crypto has no real value, except maybe BTC
