How much income have you actually made from trading?

I'm not talking about profits that you immediately reinvested into trading. I'm talking actual real cash in your bank account for you to spend.

So how much? Because I've made about 50 grand in the past year and I've seen none of it. In fact my quality of life has got worse.

I am a 3rd world guy and I want to invest around $30-40 a month in stonks and coins for long term.

I am such a noob that I still have a lingering feeling that stock market is gambling. That is why I want to invest in stocks long term.

I do not want to do day trading like my father did and lost around 30% of his net worth. He could have kept it in a bank or a fixed deposit and earned interest on that money and become richer than he is now.

What books or investing strategies do you recommend?
