Putting on my tinfoil hat and reaching deep into the chaos of schizophrenia, I predict the MOASS trigger will be the implosion of a Turkish or Egyptian bank. Why those countries? They're the naval chokepoints for Russia, China and the Gulf arabs to interface with Europe. If one or both countries falls into chaos, then all attempts at dedollarization crash as the ruble and yuan go to zero at the same time as Europe suddenly runs short on various imports and Africa loses most of their wheat imports. That sort of instant chaos is too many moving factors for the algorithm to automatically rebalance, and so one of the volatility bounds will break and we're off to the races.
