My computer's power supply is faulty and under warranty I know that I can get a replacement for free. But since it would take 5+ business days for me to send the faulty unit and to receive my replacement, it is not worth my time. The PSU cost around $100, let's say optimistically that the replacement would arrive within five days, that's $20 a day that I am saving. But access to my computer is worth much more than $20 a day, I manage a six figure portfolio and actively trade, being away from my computer for a week can cost me magnitudes more than what I would gain from a "free" replacement under warranty.
Like these past few days for instance, I bought calls and made $7k profit from that alone, and more from just managing my yield/altcoin positions. Yes these past few days were exceptional, but it just speaks to how valuable it is to have access to my computer. I can't justify taking a week of downtime for a $100 part that I can just buy off amazon and have it arrive the same day.

It is more worthwhile to me to buy a new part than wait a week for a free replacement under warranty. If you can't relate I'm going to assume that you are poor and therefore that your time is not valuable.

I work at a midsized software company (Not going to say which one and dox myself, but plenty of people on this board have probably used software I've worked on). Earlier today they just fired everyone that wasn't a white or asian male. Recession is confirmed.
