Is it acceptable to read from a script for a corporate presentation?

I have an interview/presentation tomorrow and I have a script in the discussion of my PowerPoint that sounds great but I struggle to remember all the minute details when only going from the slides.

>have interview with fortune 20 company
>goes well and he gives next steps
>follow up a week later and he responds 48 hours later
>says he wants me to present a presentation to the district director
>now wondering if it’s a fake interview and they are just using me for consulting work

Is having to make a presentation during the interview process normal?

/biz/ I had a phone interview with a potential manager of my department Monday and it lasted a little over 30 minutes and the interviewer seemed nice and even gave me a timeline and potential next steps BUT he didn’t even mention salary. Is this a bad sign? Is there a way to find this out without looking rude or thirsty?
