OG OMG Chad reporting in. I have held this coin since a few months after ICO. I am in the top 500 holders of this coin and you anons are fucking lucky I am willing to share my knowledge. You literally don't deserve it. Most of you are 2020 kiddies trading this coin like any other alt.

Blockchain is a difficult technology to build at scale. I liken it to constructing a skyscraper. If an engineering firm came to you and told you that they got "99% of the calculations correct" to build a skyscraper, would you hire them? Of course not, you'd intuitively understand that the 1% of shit they got wrong could very well make the entire fucking building collapse.

It is no different in cryptocurrency. The vast majority of teams are not capable of getting a scaled blockchain ONE HUNDRED PERCENT correct. What makes OMG different than any other crypto EVER is that IT ACTUALLY FUCKING WORKS. There is literally no precedent for a WORKING blockchain technology operating at scale. Every single crypto boom in the history of this space has been pure speculation. OMG will be the FIRST moon mission with real life transactions behind it. The Plasma architecture they have been researching and building since 2015 (not 2017 when the white paper was published) is OPTIMIZED for the first and only use case of blockchain that will actually be used by everyone in the world -- simple value payments, agnostic as to currency type. ETH 2.0 will not make an optimized financial transaction layer network obsolete, it will enhance it. Ethereum, which has adopted OMG from the very beginning, is ready willing and able to donate the prominent payments use case to its golden child. From Karl Floresh to Joseph Poon to Kelvin Fichter to Vitalik himself, every single one of the best minds of the industry have directly contributed to the specification of OMG.

Look I’m an OMG fan but you’re getting way ahead of yourself. The ONLY thing that has been announced is Bitfinex based USDt transactions on the ETH blockchain.

That’s maybe 30MM in transaction volume daily. That’s no small amount in crypto, but to say that OMG is doing ALL or anywhere near a majority of USDT transactions, which are tens of billions daily.

I expect the Bitfinex experiment to be very successful, and at that time OMG will enter into an entirely new class of crypto: the first one with proof of scale. Shortly after that, we’re going to see the moon that has been long prophesied.
