So in a bull run, a coin with an established team and a fuckton of use cases and partnerships won't make it past $13B MC, but a fucking shitty ass rug pull coin like XRP can go past $120 Billion? What the fuck?

I used to believe bitcoin was going to change the world, on so many levels: end wars, end consumerism, end financial fraud, et cetera.

Once I acknowledged the level of (willful) ignorance and dishonesty emanating from some leading figures, doubt settled in. Also the fact these quasi cult members incessantly feel the need to shill their particular coin whenever and wherever is a warning sign of some kind of pyramid scheme.

Disruptive technology speaks for itself, it just happens. Take the Internet for example, no one had to constantly shove it down your throat for its revolutionary properties to shine. For bitcoin the opposite is true: it's still inconvenient, it's slow, it's extremely risky to use, and even if it succeeds as a new "gold standard", it doesn't prevent fractional reserve banking which is why it was invented in the first place.

The primary reason people promote it is greed; hoping its value will go up. That's not disruptive at all, that's exactly what Bernie Madoff sold: the promise of becoming rich. Hedge funds and wealthy popular individuals buying into digital assets isn't proof of legitimacy—just as Madoff's scheme wasn't—it only proves that most people just want to become rich(er).

When money and greed is involved even the smartest people make stupid decisions.
