Like these standards there will be a technical method chosen and widely adopted as a distributed ledger for transactional data. My opinion is that it is not possible with current technology to do it better than Nano and it will slowly become the standard.

For me currency coins have a special allure as I travel a lot and have to move funds around for longer stints where I cannot simply take it on the airplane in cash.
Western Union is a poor experience and I have been brought in on so called money laundering charges in shithole places twice, which turned out to just be a squeeze tactic by local law enforcement .
In SE Asia and India you can load pre paid cards at ATMs with cash, these have also fucked me with regulatory authorities .
I understand anti money laundering laws, but the worst experience by far has to be opening an account at a local bank and using forex services to convert and transfer, the time it takes and red tape involved is ridiculous.
