XLF is american financial institutions
as far as i know it doesnt include any EU banks in its holdings

heres a list of over half its holdings (pic)
i dont have the data on what the rest of their holdings are rn, but id assume its some mid and smallcap US banks, otherwise i dont understand how they could get away w calling it the US financial sector ETF.

im 100% on board w the idea that EU banks are overleveraged, underperforming, and holding some serious bags from the last decade that still need to be addressed. however thats not whats being addressed w that particular short volume chart. this is purely american
