How effective is a populace with small arms at defeating a military invasion and occupation? If it looks like China is on the verge of invading Taiwan (let’s assume they succeed in landing) and the government distributes a rifle and 300 rounds of ammo to every able bodied man and woman, how effective would they be at making life for the occupiers hell? Assume they have basic training in the operation of the weapons and basic marksmanship but no combat specific skills.
