You don't. You just try and go it solo and eventually someone will contact you, at least that's what happened to me.
I spent years trying to get friends and like-minded artists to collaborate with me and people kept flaking out, then I made a film which got a bit of good buzz and people started offering me (small) money.
In my case having flashy equipment also helps, invest in something that looks impressive but it's really that expensive. It's basically Peacocking for business...
I'm not sure what the software equivalent is however.
