Financially speaking, how profitable is colonizing underdeveloped countries?

>start at 40k per year or something
>work yourself up to 120k or so after 1-2 decades
>still can barely afford a house, only by self-enslavement (mortgage)
>go the start-up route
>study how to pitch
>raise a couple of millions from billionaire investors who don't give a fuck and literally sign deals drunk
>pay yourself 500k modest yearly CEO salary
>ask for more money until it doesn't work
>make as much in a year than others in a decade in the worst case of just one big financing round

Why do people even consider jobs as a viable way of life?
