yeah i agree it's a shitty job for someone that doesn't have an eye for design and efficiency who can only be an average developer at best, but for the few truly talented developers it's an absolute goldmine of a career. at that level you can easily get a big name on your resume and leave to found a startup or build your own software consulting firm. the possibilities are endless for the intelligent developer.
