It *is* inflation. Which causes consumer prices to go up. Because any money supply will do. What matters is your share of it. $1 when 100 exist is the same as $10 when 1,000 exist. Money printing by a government is stealing in the same way conterfeiting is. Do not proceed to more economics until you understand this. Btw the "field" for the last century has been a series of rationalizations for debasing the currency. It's fundamentally criminal. An economist today is less a scientist than he a mob lawyer.
