What is easier to attack is also easier to defend, genius. CPU-optimized mining = low barrier to entry since virtually everybody in the world already owns devices capable of providing hashrate. Also means you can mine anonymously, which isn't possible when you rely on ASICs, there can be no doubt as to what your intentions are when you buy them.
