yep this is what i use!
https://www.tenorex.ca/products/mothersucker-prospector

I hook it up to a simple header box on an inner tube, and just suck up obvious cracks or fissures close to shore. I use it more to remove overburden slimes or silt than to actually mine with, I use my crevasse tools to pull the material that has the gold out. The only down fall of these tools is they "push" a jet of water out the end when you go for your next "pull" of material, so anything under the tool end gets blasted and can get sent down stream. Its best to have a guy in a snorkel watching the tool tip, funneling material in, who can pick any bigger flakes up before you suck them up.

placer gold is one of the most difficult types of deposits to figure out. They appear and disappear with no clear reasoning at all, or can pop up in some truely odd places that make no sense what so ever. It takes years to learn to figure out a river.

I ve been thinking about building a little inner tube dredge like pic related for ages, only issue is permitting nearly impossible to get in BC, but where i would be playing would be far out of government eyes.
