I am working a job which I don't really like and really want to switch. But the problem is that financially speaking it would not make any sense to do so , I get paid almost the same as a senior software developer despite the fact that you don't need anything to do this job. Although the main issue is that it is pretty hard to get in . I got in but I hate it.

Frens , I want to get into Software Dev world and am studying that right now. Would you think that might be a good long term job ? All the hints are pointing at yes but sometimes when I read stuff on /biz/ regarding that area it makes me a bit depressed. Any advice ?
