DFV increased his position because we have been having quarterly runups for the last 3 years. Options premiums 10x-100x overnight when they do their little derivatives rebalancing or whatever other manipulations they were performing regularly so he probably used some cash to time these rebalances by buying calls, selling them for fat ass profits, then buying more gme shares, maybe even write covered calls on a small percentage of his overall shares when the premiums were fucking insane.
