We never reached deep recession where garbage companies sucking the blood of the economy get bankrupted. GE and Ford should not be alive right now, and in keeping them alive they've zombified our economy with infinitely rolling debt. THERE ARE ONLY 2 COMPANIES WITH AAA RATINGS IN THE SP500. JJ AND MSFT. No new innovations, no new competitors. To keep these garbage companies alive we've kept interest rates at record lows, essentially setting ourselves to be fucked by deflation now as our piles of debt grow larger, and we have no rates to cut to fight against deflation. My favorite part is how the debt, allowed by low interest rates, that has been taken out was used for share buybacks instead of MnA or RnD, essentially being WASTED, doing absolutely NOTHING but jack up share prices and paying CEOs.

We're Isildur who brought the ring to mount doom and decided not to drop it down. Now the forces of debt and deflation have grown much stronger, while the economy itself has grown entirely fragile to any shocks beneath the surface. Our recent bull run is about as healthy as middle earth was safe in the beginning of Fellowship.
